Almost like home...

I could see and feel a difference once I got closer and closer to my destination: Boulder.

I couldn't have asked for a better welcoming from Boulder. My hosts, Emily and Brittany, showed me an amazing time in Boulder and Estes Park.

The very first stop? The mountains, of course.

The Flatirons were beautiful. It was a great feeling, being on top of the world. It was such a calm and relaxing place to be. But it was more than that, it was a feeling I can't even put into words. I could have sat there forever. I still can't believe I stood that close to the edge and looked out. Looking at the pictures now, I get a little nervous.

My hosts were still figuring out Boulder, for themselves. But I couldn't tell. They know how to have a great time, and the people I met while there were all very welcoming. It was a comfortable place to be.

Estes Park was our next big adventure. We spent the whole day exploring and walking around. I'd heard about this place from my family and it didn't disappoint. There were plenty of picture moments, so we took advantage of that.

We spent some time in downtown Boulder, as well. And for a quick tour of the place, I was already loving Colorado.

My last day there, I got to explore Boulder for a little bit on my own. I only managed to fill my gas tank, go to Target and find parking to walk around downtown in the daylight. But after the frustration of not getting much done by myself, I was ready to move on.

Fort Collins was my next stop. Heather and her family were also great hosts. I could see a distinct difference in this city from Boulder. Fort Collins was very family friendly. It seemed much calmer. I felt safe there, like I'd known the city my whole life. Heather and I got to catch up and hang out with the kids. She made an amazing dinner and then we rode bikes downtown. I loved the bike ride. I loved the downtown area. We met up with Heather's sister and had desert. Even though I didn't stay in Fort Collins for long, I still found it to be a very comfortable city.

All of what I saw of Colorado, had me wanting to stick around longer.
